Hard Stop Support

Hard Stop lives in your Mac’s menu bar. It shows the meeting you are in or the one coming next, counts down to it, and puts a reminder under the icon before it starts, with a Join button in it.

Say what you did, what happened, and what you expected instead. These make it much easier to find:

• the version of macOS, and the version of Hard Stop from the App Store listing
• which calendar account the meeting came from: iCloud, Google, Exchange, Office 365
• for a Join button that went to the wrong place, the meeting provider and, if you can share it, what the link looked like with the meeting id taken out

What to expect

I write these apps on my own, in my own time, so this is not a support desk. I read every email. A reply usually takes a few days, and a fix takes longer than a reply.

Three things that are working as intended

• All-day entries are missing. Holidays, someone’s leave and a week-long conference are not things you can be late for, so they stay out of the list. Turn them on in Settings.
• Only one calendar shows up. Hard Stop reads exactly one calendar, the one you pick in the popover, because a single choice is a clearer promise than a row of checkboxes.
• Meetings you declined are hidden. A meeting you said no to is not your meeting. Settings has the switch if you want them back.

If the menu bar says nothing at all, the usual cause is calendar access. Check System Settings → Privacy & Security → Calendars, then pick a calendar again in the popover.
