Hard Stop Privacy Policy

Hard Stop does not collect, store, transmit, or share any personal data.

Your calendar

Hard Stop reads one calendar, the one you choose, through macOS’s own Calendar access, so it can show what you are in or what is next and remind you before a meeting starts. It reads the title, the time, the location, the organiser, the attendees and their replies, and the links in the invitation. All of it is read on your Mac and held in memory while the app is running. None of it is written to disk, and quitting the app leaves none of it behind.

Until you pick a calendar the app reads nothing at all. Hard Stop never creates an event and never changes one. You can withdraw its access whenever you like, in System Settings → Privacy & Security → Calendars.

The calendar itself may be an iCloud, Google, Exchange or Office 365 one. Hard Stop does not know or care which: it reads through Apple’s Calendar app, which is already signed in to that account, and it never talks to those services itself.

What is kept

Your preferences, and only your preferences: which calendar you chose, how long before a meeting the reminder appears, whether it makes a sound and keeps ringing, whether calls open in the Zoom or Teams app rather than a browser, what the menu bar shows, and whether you have read the first-run sheet. They sit in the app’s own preferences on your Mac.

Network

Hard Stop makes no network connections. It has no analytics, no advertising, no accounts, and no third-party services. The app is sandboxed, and the sandbox grants it calendar access and nothing else.

When you press Join, your Mac opens the meeting link in the app or browser you already use. What that app then does is between you and whoever runs the meeting.
