Call Your Mom Privacy Policy

Last updated: 11 September 2026

Call Your Mom does not collect, store, transmit, or share any personal data.

What is kept, and where

One file on your iPhone, in the app’s own storage:

Her name is not in that list and is not stored anywhere. The app says “Mum” on every screen and in every notification, whatever her contact card is filed under. Not keeping the name at all is what makes that impossible to get wrong later.

The app has no account, no iCloud sync and no backup of its own, and it sends nothing anywhere. That also means the counter does not survive deleting the app. It is the trade the app makes: it knows one thing about you, and it only knows it here.

Contacts

You pick her through iOS’s own contact picker, which runs outside the app. Call Your Mom never asks for permission to your address book and never sees anybody else in it. What comes back is her phone number and the identifier of her card. Not her name, not her email, not her photograph.

Calls

Tapping Call opens the Phone app or FaceTime with her number in it. While the app is still on screen it watches for a call connecting, so that a call which rang out does not reset the counter; after that it judges by how long you were gone. It cannot see who you called and it never reads your call history.

Notifications

The weekly prompt and the catch-up nudge are scheduled on your iPhone by the app itself. They are sent time-sensitive so they get through Focus. Nothing goes through a server, and there is no push.

Network

Call Your Mom makes no network connections. It has no analytics, no advertising, no accounts, no in-app purchases, and no third-party services.
